Guildford Home

Some years ago S.P.I., were invited into a care home in the Guildford Surrey area.
We were asked to record a night investigation, but this also gave us the chance to meet several residents and talk with them. It has been found that many elderly people suffer from all kinds of memory problems and many of them are ignored because of this, there stories are not taken seriously because some carers believe they are imagining it.
On this night we set up a camera in the corridor of Mrs X, her apartment door being at the opposite end to where our camera was situated. Now Mrs X as far as we could see was a very lovely elderly lady, she was eccentric but had all her senses about her. She had been complaining to care staff that at night the children, a little boy and girl, would come into her room and take her sweets from the table. This she also told us was in no doubt that this was what was happening to her.

This is what was recorded from that event, at around 1.30am a noise was picked up on camera 1, then visually you could see the camera was knocked causing it to move. Audio then heard children giggling and running down the corridor but it sounded like there was no carpet on the already carpeted floor. This stopped at the end of the corridor outside Mrs X’s door, it was then recorded, as if a latch door was opened and then in a few seconds closed, the giggling then started again and faded towards the far end of the corridor towards the stairs.

There were many areas which had cold spots within this large building. There were many light sources seen during the night. Also strange sounds and noises which could not be identified as normal.
The lovely gentleman on the top floor, Mr.Y, Had told us he was being disturbed by his friends at night, they would come and see him and ask him to go with them. He said this has been happening for around a week now. Mr.Y was in sound mind and was an X biker, he loved to talk about his motor biking days. Four days after Mr.Y had told us about this he must of decided to accept the invitation from his friends, he went on his new journey. Bless him.

There were many strange feelings in this dwelling and YES, it has it’s extra, very friendly residents.
We believe we all have the chance to be contacted to show us when our time is near, well most of us anyway. It is just up to the individual to accept it. Most of all though it shows that not all of the elderly can be branded with madness when trying to explain what they hear and see.
