We turned up at the Kings head at 10pm and it felt that we were expected by more than just the owners Jim and Anne.
We spent time opposite the bar area before introducing ourselves.
We all felt activity within this area.
Lorraine felt being pulled down her right side while sitting in this area. Jeff and Alan felt the same but on their opposite side,but they were standing.
We all felt a cold breeze from the left of us, and on investigating this we found no explainable reason for this. There were hot pipes all around this area but the breeze was very cold.
Jeff face became very red on his right side as if he had been slapped, but he felt no physical contact.(unexplainable), but both Alan and Lorraine saw this.
Lorraine had an image (third eye) of a man hanging to the left of her and also felt another presence near her.
(Speaking with the landlord after the investigation he told us this area was used as a court room).
This was agreeable with the feelings that we were sensing at the time.
By this time the pub was closing and we introduced ourselves fully to Jim and Anne, and they gave us a tour of the property.
We set up our equipment at 12.30am.
One camcorder was placed in what we suspected was the maids bedroom where the supposed monk was said to be seen. The second recorder was set up in the bar area.
(Two hours filming showed no results at this time, but photographs did pick up light sources.)
We then sat in the bar area and proceeded with automatic handwriting. Alan had some response, but nothing you could really make out. Jeff had the word ( godless ) twice.
Lorraine, well while watching her hand fly around with the pen we thought it would be scribble but it turned out to be a woman in a long dress. This was drawn upside down and Lorraine had her eyes closed.
At this time Jeff had sensed some names and a date of 1701.
The names were Spike, Thomas, Herbert, James, and Edwards. Also at this time Alan felt his hair being touched and Jeff his neck.
Whilst Alan was in the gents toilets, as he came out he heard the shuffling of feet behind him. Jeff felt a presence in front of him as he came out of the gents shortly afterwards. This was confirmed by both when we compared notes.
Also Lorraine smelt horse manure near the rear door of the bar.(Jim had told us after the invest that the rear of the building was the stables).
We then moved to the first floor dining area. This was filmed for one hour with no results,but again we had light sources on camera.
This area was very active, and as Alan walked across to the middle of the room he felt as if he had walked into someone. Within seconds,Jeff responded with the same feeling. It was as if it had gone through both of us even though Jeff was at the end of the room.
These feelings were cold, tingling and took our breath away.
Shortly after this Jeff and Lorraine felt another presence, they both sensed a female.
Jeff felt she was a prostitute, a lady of the night.
Both agreed and sensed she had two feathers in her headdress, which was held by a black head band.
Lorraine sensed the name Susana and Jeff at the same time sensed Susan. It was also felt she aimed for the higher class of customer.
In this area Lorraine also experienced a jar to her right leg, as if it was nudged from behind.
Jeff felt in this area a feeling of depression,discussion,anxiety and the feeling of not wanting to be in this area. A feeling of boredom. This was in no way a negative feeling.
We all sensed the feeling of being watched but from a distance, as if we were being judged and also we were being followed.
(After the investigation we again were informed that this area was used as a civic hall for official meetings.).
This in fact linked out with the court area and the tunnel that led to the prison.
We found that all the activity ceased abruptly at around 3am.
We all noticed on at least three occasions a terrible stench which lasted for around 5 seconds a time. (could this be our monk?)
After looking at the automatic writing of Lorraine, (and the name Anne that Jeff had sensed ), this corresponded with the past history i.e. The owners back in time were William Townsend Snr., his son was of the same name but jnr.,a famous poet who fell in love with a women named Anne(who rejected his advances and a love affair never blossomed). The picture Lorraine drew was very close to the picture on the mantle of the fireplace in the bar area. (This embossed picture was unknown to us until after the drawing, and also Jim and Anne had no idea that this embossed picture existed.).
This was an excellent investigation and there are a lot of unanswered gaps within our findings, so it has been agreed to return to the Kings Head in a few weeks.
We the team can say that there is a lot of activity in this building and hope to find more on our next visit.
We thank Jim and Anne for the trust given to us to allow the team to be left with the responsibility of being left alone and securing the property after the investigation.
