Invite to the Anchor Public House in Godalming. 10th June 2011
We were asked to investigate this dwelling because the Landlady had several unusual experiences, mainly in the cellar. She had seen a shadow, but a mans eyes were dominant from this shadow. She had also had many experiences of strange noises and the feeling of being watched around the property.
Myself Alan, and the team, Lorraine and Cathy met a good friend, Maddie in the dwelling at around 8pm on this Friday night. I made my way to the cellar leaving the team to settle in upstairs. I needed to be alone so as to relax and make myself comfortable. I shortly sensed I was not alone but this spirit would not converse with me, it would come close but then step back.
I asked the others to join me, Lorraine sensed this male spirit was French almost immediately. At the same time Cathy said this spirit is a mute, his mouth is either deformed or sewn together, no wonder I could not receive a verbal response. This spirit stayed close to Cathy. It was then that Cathy started to raise her arms in the shape of the cross, I immediately approached her and asked if she was alright. She did not answer and dropped her head to her chest and started to whistle and her arms were shaking as if they were being pulled apart. I began my work quickly and calmly to push this spirit back from her, this took several minutes until I finally, with the support of Lorraine, moved this spirit domination away from Cathy. We retired from the cellar and I sealed the area as well as completing a blessing.
This investigation we found very difficult to access because the event was although I say negative, it could also be read as frustrating. This spirit was mute so could not give us verbal information, neither would he transfer thought. Was he frustrated and showing the team this or was he showing his strength as a threat? I will agree he was very strong, but would not attempt to confront me or the other team members. Cathy was very open so did he see this as a weakness? No harm came to Cathy but she was shaken by the quick and dominant approach of this spirit, her words were, “I didn’t like that ! “, and who could blame her for thinking that. The quick response from myself and Lorraine most certainly stopped this spirit from any other action, he did not attempt any further contact.
After saying our closure and protection and the sealing procedures we left the dwelling after just a few hours.
The building will be closed in a few weeks for selling and will be turned into a music school, we will monitor this when the new owners have settled in, if they agree that is. Although we sensed this was visitation and we feel this spirit will move on; but you can never be sure so we all agree it would be sensible to stay in touch just in case!
